The McKenzie Animal Hospital Staff
Angela joined MAH Outpatient staff in June of 2004. She enjoys spending time with her daughters, her husband, and being outdoors (skiing, snowmobiling, and camping). Angie has one dog, Kandie.
Kristen joined our Client Care staff in the fall of 2013. Since graduating from North Eugene High School in 2002, Kristen has been attending the U of O and LCC working towards an Assosciate of Applied Science degree. Kristen has volunteered and fostered pets for the Willamette Valley Animal Guild (W.A.G.S.), a spay and neuter clinic and has helped save pets.
When she's not working, Kristen loves spending time with her Chihuahua, Roxy, and tortoise, Michaelangelo. She also has 2 godsons whom she adores and also loves to spend time with.
Ally joined our Client Care team in August 2015. She is new to the animal side of medicine. Prior to expanding her medical interest, she was studying to be a Paramedic at Lane Community College.
Having a special love for her dog, Kadie, Ally hopes to adopt another dog within a year or two. The new addition will be trained as a therapy dog.
Outside of work Ally enjoys spending time with friends and family, engaging in activities such as camping, bow shooting, swimming and reading books. Ally also spends a lot of time doing community, anything from running 5Ks to volunteering at special events.
Maree joined our practice in March 1995 as an Outpatient Assistant and has worked in veterinary medicine for more than 30 years. Maree brightens our day with her ready smile and cheerful manner. She is patient and helpful with clients and their pets. Maree is always happy to help you with any questions you may have.
Maree likes to volunteer at the pet fair in Springfield and other pet related events. She also worked to helps clean up local parks through her church as few times a year. Family is also very important to Maree, she has 2 daughters, 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 4 granddogs, and 1 grand guinea pig. In her spare time she enjoys beading, sewing and ceramic or statuary painting.
Alyssa, one of our Outpatient Assistants, joined McKenzie Animal Hospital in February of 2008. Alyssa brings such a team spirit to Outpatient. She takes her work very seriously and is a great advocate for our patients. She loves spending time with her family; John her husband and two sons Eli and Levi. She has two dogs Chump (Jack Russell mix) and Garth (chocolate lab). She enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting or anything else that gets her outside.
Kristen joined the Outpatient staff in October 2011, after graduating from Oregon State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science and a minor in Spanish. Kristen is the proud owner of a Golden Retriever, Bendigo, and her horse, Jazmine. In her spare time she enjoys long distance running, riding in the Cascades, hiking, biking, swimming, and other outdoor pursuits. A perfect day would be spent in the mountains with her horse, her dog and her husband, David.
Réyme joined McKenzie Animal Hospital's Inpatient staff in June 2011, as a veterinary tech assistant. Réyme is a loving pet owner to her dog, Sadie May. Her interests outside of the clinic are cheerleading and anything outdoors such as hunting, fishing, camping, quad & snowmobile riding.
Stephen graduated from the Univerisity of Oregon with a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemestry and a minor in Biology, joining our staff in 2013. He has volunteered for 2 years at Willakenzie Animal Clinic and has recently started volunteering at Del Oeste Equine Hospital. Additionally, Stephen was a volunteer dog walker at Greenhill Humane Society. In his spare time he likes to play his guitar, playing classic rock and blues, however now is interested in country. Stephen enjoys the outdoors by flyfishing and tying his own flies. Stephen's animals at home are two cats: Momo and Aggie; and a dog named Jiffy; plus a poodle-in-law, Hattie. Stephen married the love of his life, Gracie, in July 2012.
Jessica joined our inpatient team in February of 2013. She has always had a passion for animals and is currently working as a Veterinary Technician Assistant while attending school to achieve her ultimate goal of becoming a Veterinary Technician. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys walking through parks with her boyfriend, playing games with family, and getting in a bowling game when possible. Her pets include Riley, a loyal dog, one adventuresome cat named Charlie and a recently adopted old lady cat named Harry.
Ronnie Connell, CVT
Ronnie, our senior technician, is highly skilled in anesthesia and dentistry and coordinates the Inpatient dental services. Ronnie began volunteering at a veterinary clinic straight out of high school in 1975. She studied animal science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and received her Associate of Science degree in Animal Health Technology from Foothill College. Ronnie earned her technician certification in 1981. Ronnie and her husband Kurt are the Invisible Fence Brand dealers in the area. They live with their 2 dogs, Maicee and Hunter, their cat Roxy, and a horse named Rajah.
Nicole Miller, CVT
Nicky has worked her way up from an entry level assistant position to a valued certified veterinary technician and managed this while working full-time and raising her son. Nicky has elevated the level of patient care and is attentive, gentle, and caring with all her patients. In her spare time, Nicky enjoys reading, playing tennis, and painting.
Pam Kinkade, AHT
Pam is an Oregon Native from Coos Bay. She received her training at Northwest College for Veterinary Technicians in 1975 and has practiced her profession for over 29 years. Pam worked for a veterinary practice in North Bend for 21 years before moving to Springfield in 1996 with her husband and daughter. Pam is in charge of our fully equipped hospital laboratory and loves working with patients and clients. Pam lost her rooster, Walter, but currently she is owner of 3 hens: Gracie, Lacey and Paris. In her free time, Pam enjoys biking, walking and gardening.
Diane Richards, CVT
Diane joined our team in the January of 2012 as a certified veterinarian technician. She has two kitties; a Savannah named Zahira, and a Bengal named Amani, that provide hours of entertainment. Diane also enjoys volunteering at martial arts tournaments, reading, listening to music, running, cycling, and Zumba.
Heather Richner, CVT
Heather recently completed her Certified Veterinary Technician courses and exams. She has been with our practice since April of 2010, after graduating from Linn-Benton Community College with a Veterinary Assistant Certificate in 2009. Heather is a loving pet owner to her dogs Toby a Pomerat and Champ an Australian Shepherd, and her cats Paco, Rocky, and Mama Kitty. Heather's interests outside of work include hiking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Ashley joined our Inpatient team in October 2012. Ashley loves spending time with her horses, Dakota and Jake, her dogs, Maggie and Sierra, and her cats, Kitty Girl and Jewel. Outside of the practice her interests include fishing, hunting, riding quads and horses, and camping.
Crystal joined our Inpatient Team January 2015 after a 3 month internship with Penn Foster's Certified Veterinary Technician program. Growing up Crystal and her family helped Greenhill Humane Society by fostering horses and cats, which ignited the passion to work with animals. Crystal loves the outdoors especially the summer months when she can sit outside, take her two dogs for walks and watch them swim. When not working Crystal enjoys spending time with her family and friends. An avid reader, you'll almost always catch her with at least two books in her possession.
Janna Moskovitz, AHT
Janna is our longest serving staff member. As Office Manager, Janna keeps the hospital running smoothly and helps everyone's work go easier. She is in charge of the practice management software and hardware systems and book keeping. Janna spends her free time with her family, friends and her menagerie of turtles, fish, dogs and cats.
Libby Hamper, CVPM
Libby Hamper, CPVM is the Practice Manager at McKenzie Animal Hospital, PC in Springfield, OR, a 4-doctor, AAHA certified small animal hospital with 25 employees.
Libby has 20 years experience in veterinary medicine starting out in high school in 1993 and continuing to work in the field while attending nursing school only to learn that she would rather work in veterinary medicine. She has worked with five veterinary practices across the country starting as a kennel assistant then advancing through receptionist, veterinary assistant, and supervisor positions. She is in her 9th year at McKenzie Animal Hospital, PC which has supported her professional development and education and promoted her to Practice Manager in 2006. Libby become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager in September of 2009 and is now in the process of completing her Bachelors Degree in business management.
Libby is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the local manager group that meets monthly.
Libby truly values and enjoys working with people and states that working with animals and medicine in addition to the people is a bonus. Libby takes great pride in being part of the professional growth of the industry and managing a hospital that embraces change.
Libby and her husband are the proud owners of a two-year old Border collie, Tucker. She spends most of her time free time trying to tire him out, which usually includes long hikes and lots of outdoor activities.
